Motivation, needs, attitudes and world-view values are considered the core of personality. One of the most important of natural and life-long needs is the need for emotional saturation and trends for certain feelings and experiences. 10 types of needs for socialized emotional experiences (SEE) is defined: romantic, acquisitive, etc (B.I. Dodonov, 1978). The whole set of public feelings, needs, values, motivation and attitudes of a group of people at certain period of time is a reflection of public conscience and attitudes. Therefore, generalized data on SEE can serve as an indicator of public conscience and attitudes. SEE indices in inhabitants of Saint Petersburg in correlation with current diurnal, seasonal and long-term geocosmic fluctuations were studied with longitude and profile methods, using the test-questionnaire by B.I. Dodonov. The following geocosmic indices were considered: W – relative number of sunspots, G – long-term potential of tidal power of Moon and Sun, SMF –solar magnetic field, and other indices. The indices of temperature (T), precipitation (R), pressure (P) and humidity (f) were also taken into consideration. The data was processed with scaling technique, method of epochs superposition, t-criterion by Student, correlation analysis. 4328 women and 2065 men were tested during 1990-2003 (with exception of 2002). Essential varieties of the studied indices are shown, p?0,001. For example, the index of pugnative SEE in women varies from 2,75 to 4,16, in men – from 4,23 to 6,17. Correlation analysis revealed numerous correlations at significance level of p?0,05?0,001, with the indices G and W being most powerful. For men, increase in values of G index is accompanied with increasing values of communicative, glorificative, hedonistic SEE indices and decreasing values of pug native, romantic, gnostic and acquisitive SEE indices. For women, higher values of G index are accompanied with higher values of praxical and glorificative SEE indices and lower values of pugnative SEE index (See Pic.1). For men, higher values of W index are accompanied with increasing values of gnostic and pugnative SEE indices and decreasing values of hedonistic, communicative and glorificative SEE indices. For women, increase in values of W index is accompanied with higher values for romantic and pugnative SEE indices and lower values of glorificative SEE index. There is certain influence of regional environment characteristics, which is proved with significant correlations between T index and several SEE indices. The correlations are most significant, in descending order, for communicative, gnostic and hedonistic SEE in men and romantic SEE in both men and women, r=±0,703?0,548. Positive or negative correlations here coincide with positive or negative correlations for W index. There is also a correlation between R index and gnostic SEE in women, r=-0,555. The longitude study conducted in 1991-1993 showed that higher humidity correlate with higher acquisitive SEE and lower communicative SEE values, p?0,01; 0,05. The correlation between high average monthly temperature and low praxical SEE value appears as a tendency. Therefore, geocosmic fluctuations influence motivation system in people, and consequently characteristics of public conscience and attitude, and sociogenesis.
Pic.1. The correlation between changes in praxical and glorificative SEE in women (Pr w, Gl w), communicative SEE in men (Cm m) and changes in tidal power (G). The correlation values are, respectively, r=0,848; 0,82; 0,77. The thin lines are polynomial trends. Romantic SEE manifest themselves as aspiration for peculiar, unknown, mysterious things; acquisitive SEE – as needs for accumulation, acquisition, collection; praxical SEE – as aspiration for successful work and keenness for one’s occupation; glorificative SEE – as aspiration for glory and fame; hedonistic SEE – as needs for physical and mental comfort; altruistic SEE – as aspiration for voluntary helping and caring about others; gnostic SEE – as aspiration for understanding and discovering the truth; pugnative SEE – as aspiration for risk, fight, overcoming dangers; communicative SEE – as need for communication and interaction; esthetic SEE – as aspiration for enjoying beauty of smth or smb. |
